Sunan Ibn Majah is Darussalam's complete 5-volume Arabic-English edition of Imam Ibn Majah's Sunan, one of the six canonically recognised hadith collections (Al-Kutub As-Sittah). This set presents all 4,341 hadith with the Arabic text alongside an English translation, each hadith marked with its authenticity grading and followed by explanatory comments.

About This Set

Translated into English by Nasiruddin al-Khattab, this 5-volume hardcover set pairs the Arabic text with a modern English translation, with each hadith followed by short explanatory comments covering its key lessons and rulings. The final volume includes a glossary of Islamic terms, and every hadith carries a clear authenticity grading rather than being presented as uniformly sahih.

About Sunan Ibn Majah

Sunan Ibn Majah was compiled by Imam Muhammad bin Yazeed Ibn Majah Al-Qazwini (209–273 AH / 824–887 CE). It contains 4,341 hadith arranged across 32 books and roughly 1,500 chapters, covering faith, worship, transactions, ethics, and rulings drawn from the Prophet's ️ teachings.

Its Place Among the Six Books (Al-Kutub As-Sittah)

Sunan Ibn Majah is traditionally counted as the sixth of the six canonical hadith collections, alongside Sahih Al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, Sunan Abu Dawood, Jami At-Tirmidhi, and Sunan An-Nasa'i. Its inclusion took longer to become standard than the other five — some earlier scholars favoured other works in its place — largely because it contains a small number of weaker narrations alongside the reliable majority. An estimated 1,329 of its hadith are not found in any of the other five collections, which is part of why later scholars still judged it worth including: even accounting for its weaker narrations, it preserves a substantial body of hadith unique to it. This edition's per-hadith grading is designed to make that distinction clear rather than leaving readers to guess.

What's Included in This Edition

Every hadith is presented with its Arabic text, English translation, and an authenticity grading (sahih, hasan, da'if, and so on), followed by brief explanatory comments drawing out the hadith's key lessons and any related rulings. The final volume closes with a glossary of Islamic terms used throughout the set.
