Why This Book Won First Prize
The Muslim World League invited scholars worldwide to submit new biographies of the Prophet ﹡, and hundreds of manuscripts were reviewed by the judging committee. Al-Mubarakpuri's manuscript was selected for the top prize, presented in Makkah in 1399 AH (1979 CE). Its combination of careful sourcing with a readable narrative style is widely credited for setting it apart, and the book has since been translated into more than twenty languages, including this Spanish edition.
La Liga Mundial Islámica invitó a estudiosos de todo el mundo a presentar nuevas biografías del Profeta ﹡, y el comité evaluador revisó cientos de manuscritos. El manuscrito de al-Mubarakpuri fue elegido para el primer premio, entregado en Makkah en 1399 H (1979 d.C.). About the Author and Translator
Safiur Rahman Mubarakpuri (1942-2006) was born near Mubarakpur in Uttar Pradesh, India, and studied at Indian madrasahs before teaching at Jamiah Salafiyah in Banaras from 1974 to 1988. He later joined the Islamic University of Madinah's Centre for the Prophet's Biography, and worked as a research scholar for Darussalam in Riyadh. He authored around seventeen books in Arabic and Urdu before his death in 2006. This Spanish edition was translated by Yusuf Husein Hallar of the Centro Cultural Islámico Rey Fahd in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Safiur Rahman Mubarakpuri (1942-2006) nació cerca de Mubarakpur, en el estado indio de Uttar Pradesh, y estudió en madrasas de la India antes de enseñar en la Jamiah Salafiyah de Banaras entre 1974 y 1988. Más adelante se incorporó al Centro para la Biografía del Profeta de la Universidad Islámica de Medina, y trabajó como investigador para Darussalam en Riad. Escribió alrededor de diecisiete libros en árabe y urdu antes de su fallecimiento en 2006. Esta edición en español fue traducida por Yusuf Husein Hallar, del Centro Cultural Islámico Rey Fahd de Buenos Aires, Argentina.
